The People
Bob has over 20 years consultancy experience, most of which has been undertaken whilst holding a senior or Director's post. His main areas of interest are air quality and contaminated or polluted land. Following a secondment for 1 year to the US-EPA he received three NATO/CCMS fellowships to participate in NATO workshops focused on contaminated and polluted land and groundwater. He has worked and lectured on land pollution in the USA, Canada, Peru, Germany, France, Netherlands, Japan, Romania, Mexico, Belgium and the Czech Republic. Bob has been involved in the investigation and remediation of more than 50 town gas works, 10 steel works, 20 sewage treatment works, and 60 former petrol retail stations. He is currently a member of the editorial panel of "Land Contamination and Reclamation Journal".
Julian started his career with the University of Liverpool's Environmental Advisory Unit. He then spent 8 years working for a major UK aggregate and waste disposal company undertaking the range of environmental work associated with such activities. During this time he held managerial posts at sand & gravel pits, limestone quarries and waste disposal/landfill sites. He also held a senior position with responsibility for the overall evaluation of new major capital projects. During the last 10 years Julian has worked again in environmental consultancy, providing assistance to clients who have interests and problems in the mineral, mining, manufacturing and waste disposal fields. His overseas experience includes EIA, Environmental Audit and Risk Appraisal work, general project management and EMS training in Ghana, Peru, Spain, China, Mexico and the Czech Republic. For 3 years he held the post of Vice-Chair and Secretary of Environmental Committee of the International Federation of Inspection Agencies (IFIA).
Ken spent 15 years lecturing in water quality and fisheries at Liverpool University before becoming a full-time environmental consultant specialising in water quality and treatment, and fisheries issues. He has designed and developed specialised aeration equipment for a variety of applications including sewage treatment, water lagoons and reservoirs, as well as coastal barrage projects. His other key skill areas include water management strategies, aquaculture, freshwater fisheries, habitat protection and management.
Giles was formerly Head of Pollution Services with SGS Environment and is an expert in contaminated land and air quality assessment. He has been responsible for a large number of site investigations, risk assessments and cleanup audits of former industrial sites. Giles has also performed audits for proposed site acquisition/divestiture on behalf of developers, the major clearing banks, surveyors and insurance companies. He has further experience of third party verification audits of a range of industrial sector companies performance to ISO 14001. He has worked in Spain, Romania, Czech Republic, Peru, South Korea, Sweden, Belgium, Morocco and Ghana.
Paul is the company's specialist in Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Planning and Ecology. In this role he leads all aspects of the company's business in these fields. He has experience from a wide variety of industrial sectors both from the UK and overseas. Paul is also a qualified EARA environmental auditor and a Member of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management.
Richard is an aquatic ecologist and environmental scientist with particular expertise in projects concerned with the aquatic environment, particularly freshwater fisheries, habitat protection, lake management and aeration/mixing systems. His experience encompasses the analysis of all aspects of the aquatic environment including water quality issues, invertebrates and hydrology. He has undertaken a wide variety of projects involving Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of freshwater systems and is familiar with the issues surrounding developments that may impact the aquatic environment.

Other Experience:
Our staff have contributed to government strategy developments, discussion and comment on new legislation and, as expert witness, public inquiries. In relation to fisheries and water pollution issues, we have experience of providing expert witness evidence in Court.
